THE VILLAGE

One of the highlights of staying at Casa Elisabetta is the opportunity to experience the authentic Italian way of life. Our apartments are located in Caposele, a picturesque small village immersed in the green heart of the Campania region (Southern Italy) and surrounded by idyllic mountain scenery, cultivated fields and churches. Caposele, with its narrow cobbled streets and friendly locals, exudes a genuine charm that will transport you back in time.

Caposele lies at the beginning of the Sele Valley. It belongs to the Picentini Mountains Regional Park, and is also known as the "ancient water kingdom" for the karstic water springs of the Sele River. The springs feed the world's longest aqueduct: the Pugliese Aqueduct, one of the most extraordinary hydraulic engineering works ever built by hand in the world.

Several unique churches tell Caposele’s history and culture in addition to representing a symbol of spirituality deeply felt by the locals. In particular, the Sanctuary and the Basilica of San Gerardo are a place of worship that attracts thousands of faithful.
